Temporal fluctuations in microbial community composition have been observed in cultures of different mite species. In this sense, it is hypothesized that changes in microbial community composition in mite cultures have a critical role in the culture growth and can affect allergen production and subsequentially affect to the quality and safety of derived allergenic extracts. The objective of this study was to characterize temporal shifts in the mite-associated microbial communities, including internal communities (inside mites) and external communities (from culture environment), in cultures of D. pteronyssinus using -omics approach.
