This study explores how the formation of a protein corona from human serum albumin affects the physical and functional properties of liposomes, which are widely used as drug delivery carriers. By combining the Langmuir–Blodgett technique with imaging microscopy, the research offers novel insight into interactions between lipid monolayers and corona proteins. The study compares PEGylated and non-PEGylated liposomes, analyzing thermodynamic and structural changes through PM-IRRAS spectroscopy. The drug iguratimod was used as a model compound to evaluate release kinetics, highlighting the improved performance of PEGylated liposomes in maintaining drug stability and controlled release in biological environments.In the described dataset, we have deposited files (mainly text files) that present representative results of the experiments shown in the publication.
