3D Spatial Representation of Patient Data

Healthcare providers often struggle to access patient information promptly because it is excessive, spread out, and is occasionally missing from hospital computer systems. Additionally, COVID-19 infection control guidelines (such as isolation) further affected the timely retrieval of medical information. This doctoral project explored the potential of 3D Spatial Representations of Patient Data (3D-SRPD) to address these information access issues. 3D-SRPD combines and displays different types of patient data (e.g., vital signs, laboratory results, and imaging) into a single interface. This approach was tested in three controlled trials, and the results indicated that it could support faster access to patient data.
