Supplementary Data for "AI assistants and agents in GIS: a systematic review"

This supplementary dataset supports our systematic literature review, "AI assistants and agents in GIS: a systematic review," which is currently under peer review for publication. The core of the data is in "Articles_Zenodo.xlsx," which offers detailed, extracted information and quality assessment scores for every study included in the review. For each paper, the extracted data covers: Main aims / Research Questions Theoretical Background Methodology Main Results / Conclusion Specific SLMs/LLMs used Limitations Future Work The quality of each study was evaluated using an adapted framework against seven criteria, including the clarity of the research purpose, methodology, and findings. (Note: Studies lacking a clear research purpose were rejected.) Does the study identify a main research purpose? (If the score for this question is 0, the study is rejected, as a study without a clear purpose lacks the foundational basis for inclusion.) Does the study describe the methodology clearly? Was the data analysis sufficiently rigorous? Are the datasets available to the public, thus allowing replication? Is there a clear statement of findings? Does the study discuss any limitations? Does the study provide insights or findings directly applicable to the development of AI assistants in GIS? This public release ensures the transparency and reproducibility of our review.
