Susceptibility to the phenomenon of pollen eyes in the territory of Monza and Brianza – WMS

The map service shows the subdivision of the territory of the Province of Monza and Brianza into homogeneous areas by degree of susceptibility (very high, high, moderate, low, very low), or probability of occurrence, to the phenomenon of pollen eyes, as represented in Table 8 “Hydrogeological Assemblies” of the Territorial Plan of Provincial Coordination (Link). Pollen eyes are underground cavities that in case of collapse can lead to sudden sinking of the soil, resulting in potential involvement of superstructures. Their presence is closely linked to the geological context of the surface and subsoil of the territory of the upper Lombard plain and in particular of the sector between the Adda and Ticino rivers. Each polygon of the map service is linked to a card, taken from the PTCP Report, which contains the reference guidelines for the prevention and mitigation of the risk arising from this hazard factor for municipal planning tools, with particular reference to the management of rainwater in areas with higher susceptibility (Link).
