Essays on Bank and FinTech Risk

This thesis comprises three essays on various aspects of bank and FinTech risk. The first essay examines the big bath accounting practices during the CEO turnover in the context of bank risk: more importantly - systemic risk. The second essay examines the influence of financial structure (a relative index between the banking sector and the capital market of a country) on banks’ revenue choices, profitability and risk. The last essay investigates the differences in idiosyncratic/firm-specific risk and systemic risk between FinTech firms and traditional financial institutions (FIs).
