The legal definitions of the districts are as explicitly enumerated in the source legislation. We have been informated that the boundaries here may have been processed, simplified, or reprojected in ways that can impact the edges in meaningful ways. We are currently unable to estimate the scale accuracy of the dataset and while they are likely suitable for many uses, care should be exercised if differences near boundary lines are meaningful in data you use with these boundaries.

Those requiring very accurate boundaries may wish to consult the legislation, or the block equivalency file provided by the Assembly to then join to a known accurate source of Census blocks.

Additional Resources

Additional information can be accessed on the Senate Office of Demographics webpage.
https://sdmg.senate.ca.gov/committeehome/2025-congressional-districts
