Biol 2050, Week3 Lab

The data collected is from Saywell Woodlot located at York University, Toronto. Conducted on September 21, 2015.The data was collected my initially laying a transect at the edge of the woodlot and walking in a straight path further into the woods, once a adult tree (no specific species were used) was found (which was decided as atleast 5 meters tall), it would stand for our initial tree. Measurments based on the tree's diameter, follage level, as well as closest living adult tree were documented. The diameter was measured with a measuring tape at breast level, to ensure we measure each tree at the same spot. The follage level was determined by making a square with our hands and roughly estimating the percentage coverage, level 0 would be anywhere under 25% coverage of tree to sky ratio, level 1 would be anywhere between 25%-75%, and level 2 would be 75%-100%. a measure to the next closest tree was measured using a measuring tape. The tree cloest to the first tree would also be recorded for their height and follage to sky level.
