LGRB-BW HK50: Hydrogeological top layers

The distribution of the hydrogeological top layers is shown. A top layer is a near-surface hydrogeological unit above the first contiguous groundwater body, which does not contain any significant groundwater in its entirety, with the exception of floating groundwater. It is completely in the area of the unsaturated zone. In the foothills of the Alps, the glacial sediments were not classified as top layers. The classification of the top layers is based on their permeability.
