According to a survey conducted in Germany in March 2020, 45 percent of hotel and hospitality businesses have declared revenue losses between 10,000 to 50,000 euros. The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak of 2020 in Germany has hit the hotel and hospitality industries particularly hard. This is due to not only the present risk to personal health for employees, but also because current travel restrictions within Europe and in the U.S., to name just a few markets for these industries, are preventing businesses from generating revenue through travelers and consumers using their services. Domestic travel within Germany itself is also largely non-existent as long as government rules regarding movement in public spaces and contact between groups of more than two remain valid. The coronavirus pandemic is affecting businesses around the world.
