资源简介:
This dataset contains the raw data from friction experiments performed on samples from the Longitudinal Valley Fault (LVF), Taiwan, plus the KGa-1b kaolinite standard obtained from the Clay Minerals Society (KAO in data files) and a mixture of an LVF sample and the kaolinite standard (88:12; LVF21_KAO_RT). The locations of the samples are as follows: LVF1 (23°29’11” N, 121°23’58” W), LVF4 (23°10’5” N, 121°14’44” W), LVF21 (23°38’51” N, 121°27’40” W), LVF22 (23°3’7” N, 121°12’12” W) and LVF34 (23°29’6” N, 121°24’18” W). The experiments were performed using a triaxial deformation apparatus at the University of Liverpool, at a confining pressure of 100 MPa and pore fluid pressure of 40 MPa, i.e. an effective normal stress of 60 MPa, at room temperature, 120°C and 170°C. After a run-in of 2.5 mm at 0.3 µm/s, velocity steps of 3 and 0.3 µm/s were applied, each for 0.75 mm, yielding a total displacement of 6.25 mm. The name of the data files indicates the sample used followed by RT for an experiment performed at room temperature and 120C or 170C for experiments performed at 120 and 170°C, respectively. Up.Pore.Press. = upstream pore fluid pressure, Dwn.Pore.Press. = downstream pore fluid pressure, Conf.Press. = confining pressure, Volume. = pore volume, Force = axial force, Temp. = temperature, Displ. = load point displacement, Pc.vol. = confining medium volume, RT.time. = (not used).
