GSOCS-LULCC: A Global dataset of Soil Organic Carbon Stock dynamics following Land Use and Land Cover Change

We updated the Global Soil Organic Carbon Stock dataset after Land Use and Land Cover Change (GSOCS-LULCC) Version 2.2 from 912 papers documented in Web of Science up to December 2025. This database comprises 1,967 sites with 8,748 records across various sampling depths. Compared to Version 2.1, this update includes Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to better track each peer-reviewed article. Older publications without a DOI are marked as NA. Additionally, we have provided the R scripts used to train and validate the models for predicting soil organic carbon stock change (SOCSC) across various land-use change types. This dataset (in csv formats) is associated to the "GSOCS-LULCC: A Global dataset of Soil Organic Carbon Stock dynamics following Land Use and Land Cover Change" by Shuai et al. (2026). The README file includes the full explanation of all the columns.
