Images and Site Record Data from a Historic Building Recording Survey and Archaeological Evaluation at Adelphi Cinema, Kenyon Lane, Moston, Greater Manchester, August 2021 - November 2021

This digital archive comprises images and site record data from a historic building recording survey and evaluation of the former Adelphi Cinema on Kenyon Lane, Moston, Greater Manchester, M40 9DF. The historic building survey was undertaken in August 2021, by Archaeological Research Services Ltd, commissioned by Adelphi (Kenyon Lane) Developments Ltd (the clients).The historic building recording was required to assist in discharging condition 26 of planning application 127559/FO/2020, following the approval of the Written Scheme of Investigation. The archaeological evaluation was undertaken on 5th November 2021. A single evaluation trench within the planning development area was excavated. The evaluation trench was targeted to determine if any archaeological features and/or deposits survive within the site, between Kenyon Lane to the North, Brendon Avenue to the South and Nightbowne Evangelical Church to the East. Remains of the original cinema's footings and foundations were discovered but all floor surfaces and standing walls had since been truncated by demolition and later development.
