"The Malaysian Herb Identification Dataset - 5 (MHID-5) is a comprehensive and specialized image collection developed to advance research in automated plant recognition through leaf vein analysis using computer vision techniques. This dataset contains a total of 1,500 high-resolution images featuring five economically and culturally significant Malaysian herbs: Kari (Curry Leaf), Kesum (Vietnamese Coriander), Limau (Lime Leaf), Pandan (Pandanus), and Pudina (Mint). Each species is represented by 300 unique samples, meticulously partitioned into a training set of 240 images and a testing set of 60 images to ensure a balanced 80\/20 ratio for robust model evaluation. By focusing on intricate venation patterns, MHID-5 provides a critical resource for developing deep learning architectures and feature extraction algorithms aimed at agricultural AI, botanical classification, and smart farming applications within the Southeast Asian floral landscape."
