A database of objectively identified atmospheric rivers based on a multi-method fusion algorithm

This database presents a global atmospheric river (AR) identification product derived from the vertically integrated water vapor transport (IVT) fields of the ERA5 reanalysis. The database is constructed using an innovative multi-method fusion algorithm, which effectively mitigates the uncertainties associated with traditional single-method identification algorithms. Spanning the period from 1940 to 2024, the database is provided at a horizontal resolution of 1° × 1° and a time interval of 6 hours (0000, 0600, 1200, 1800 UTC). With its extensive temporal coverage and enhanced algorithmic robustness, this database serves as a high-quality resource for advanced research on AR.
