Drone aerial images of overhead lines with annotated insulators

The mFund project SMARAGD addresses the support of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for the automated maintenance of railway infrastructure. For this purpose, the aircraft should take pictures. An automatic image analysis then provides information about the state of insulators and other elements. In the project, images of railway overhead lines were recorded and analyzed in several flight campaigns. The data sets available here can be used as training data for AI-based methods for the detection of insulators.
