"Demonstration of the Integrated ANC and HT System Designs for Speech Clarity in In-Ear Headphones"

"To evaluate speech clarity, the spectrogram of the signal measured at the right ear of the KEMAR is presented under different operating modes. The first part (0\u20135 s) depicts the speech signal selecting from the TIMIT corpus (SI1573 sentence), and the second part (5\u201310 s) shows the speech signal combined with a recorded aircraft cabin noise. The spectrogram spans the 0\u20138 kHz frequency range, corresponding to the effective speech bandwidth of the TIMIT database. The 0\u201310 s data serves as the reference signals for subsequent comparisons of speech clarity across wearing an in-ear headphone. The performance of the proposed method is shown in 10\u201330 s, including passive isolation, ANC, HT, and ANC+HT modes."
