Using high-throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing on intestinal digesta of pig model in response to dietary protein restriction. 66 male piglets with average body weight were randomly divided into three groups: a control group in which piglets received a normal protein group (20-18-16% crude protein, CP, NP group) according to the NRC 1998 and two limited protein group (17-15-13% CP, LP, and 14-12-10% CP, LLP) (Table 1). The experiment lasted for 16 weeks and assigned into three periods: piglet (0-5 weeks), growing pig (6-10 weeks), and finishing pig (11-16 weeks). Microbiome at week 5 and 16 were investigated.
