Exercise reprograms the inflammatory landscape of multiple stem cell compartments during mammalian aging III

To gain insight into the mechanisms by which exercise affects hematopoietic stem cells, we subjected young and old mice to aerobic exercise and performed single cell transcriptome analysis of hematopoietic progenitors in the bone marrow of these animals. Hematopoietic progenitors were isolated from the bone marrow of exercised or control young (4-month old) and old (22-month old) mice by FACS and processed for single cell RNA-seq.
