Frequency of having sex in the Netherlands 2017, by gender

How often do people in the Netherlands have sex? Of the respondents taking part in this survey, the largest share had sex 1-3 times a month. Just over 20 percent of survey respondents said not to have had sex at all in the last six months, whereas roughly 17 percent of respondents had had sex more than once a week. Only three percent of men had paid for this in the last six months though, the same survey found. Of the female respondents, a neglectable number had done the same. With or without condom…? During said intercourse, do people use condoms? A sizable share of survey respondents said never to use condoms. 40 percent of men and 39 percent of women never used this type of protection. Only a handful of respondents always used condoms. This was more prevalent among men than women (11 vs. 8 percent of respondents). … And with how many partners? Although few people always use condoms, a considerable share of Dutch respondents have had more than one or two sex partners in their lives. Nearly 60 percent of men and 54 percent of women had slept with more than three different partners. Having had 21 or more partners was relatively rarer though. Eight percent of the male respondents and five percent of the female respondents answered to have had this amount of sex partners.
