Water retention capacity in precipitation events

The analysis map “Water retention capacity at precipitation events 1:25.000” shows the mean water retention capacity in precipitation for each differentiated forest/non-forest legend unit of the overview floor map 1:25.000 (ÜBK25). The derivation and classes are based on “Ministry of the Environment Baden-Württemberg (1995): Assessment of soils according to their performance, Guidelines for planning and permit procedures, Air, Soil, Waste”, issue 31, p. 25, Method 5.2.4 “Compensation bodies in the water cycle”. Each soil horizon is assigned to a horizontal group (surface, topsoil, subsoil and subsoil) according to “LABO Federation/Länder Working Group Soil Protection, Background Values for Inorganic and Organic Substances in Soil (2017)”. If necessary, an evaluation of the characteristic values at the horizontal group level is possible.
