This project describes the transcriptomic analysis of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) basal stem tissues following inoculation with Fusarium solani (a causal agent of tomato stem base rot). Total RNA was isolated from basal stem tissues of F. solani-inoculated and uninoculated control plants at 3 days post-inoculation (dpi). RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) libraries were constructed and sequenced using the Illumina platform. The goal of this study is to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) involved in tomato's molecular response to F. solani infection, which will facilitate the understanding of host-pathogen interaction mechanisms and the development of disease-resistant tomato varieties.
