This series consists of indices to the Inward Correspondence Register, Annual Single Number System, Estate Office/Property Group (the Registers are not in PROV custody). It would seem that these indices were one component of the recordkeeping system used to administer and manage the private sidings.The Estate Office Branch/Property Group and from 1972 the Freight Services Branch were responsible for the administration of private sidings.This series evidentially functioned as an index to the Inward Correspondence Register.The information recorded includes:- Name of siding's holder or location of the siding,- Page reference number of the Inward Correspondence Register (Sidings Administration).
