Sheep Genome Analysis. Ovis aries

A phenotype is the result of the genotype. Here we target and analyze genes from the sheep's genome through sequencing and associate genetic variants with the phenotypic variations identified in the population. This study provides useful information about the genetic control of economically important traits, which is of potential importance for selecting high producing, disease resistant individuals in a population through marker assisted selection. The data contain raw sequences in fastq format and VCF files of the genes that have been targeted in various sheep breeds of Pakistan.
