Data and code for Cross-climate transferability of settlement morphology–thermal-burden associations: Directional reversals and population-weighted priority shifts across China

This dataset contains author-produced analysis-ready tables, ordered R and Python code, complete model outputs, figure-source tables, machine-readable quality checks and an executed audit notebook for a national analysis of 10,325 spatially balanced urban and rural settlement seeds in China. The study evaluates summer daytime heat and winter nighttime cold burdens from 2020 to 2022 across B, C and D Köppen-Geiger climates. It tests the cross-climate transferability of morphology–thermal-burden associations, identifies directional reversals, measures population-weighted shifts in fixed-size priority sets and assigns evidence-qualified planning-entry states after temporal, observation-construction, spatial-scale and recurrent-type checks. Third-party provider rasters are cited and reconstructable from the source register; author-produced derived tables needed for exact statistical reproduction are included.
