SUM FOOD: Regional food paths using the example of the City of Vienna for the Vegetables product group

The report presents the interactions between the city of Vienna and its surrounding areas in terms of the regional supply of food, as an example of vegetables. Calculations and research show that the needs of the population for vegetables can in principle be met. There is still a need for individual vegetables and processed products, as well as with regard to the required quantities of vegetables according to nutritional recommendations. In dialogue with regional stakeholders, opportunities were discussed on how to promote the expansion of regional vegetable supply between the city and the city. Appropriate labelling of products and awareness raising measures should address local agricultural land as a valuable resource.
