Beyond Efficiency from AI Applications: Unlocking Business Strategic Agility Through Next-Generation ERP Ecosystems

This research shows that current-generation ERP ecosystems augmented with artificial intelligence go well beyond efficiency to play a critical role in assisting the agility of strategy in contemporary enterprises. With the help of a formal Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method that is guided by the PRISMA approach, we were able to identify that combinative AI with functions of adaptive business processes, dynamic resource allocation, and predictive analytics gives organizations the key to being proactive in the sense that they sense a shift in the market, make decisions more responsively, and can restructure their resources rapidly. The insights have potential practical value since they offer practitioners meaningful options to use AI-ERP investments as part of resilience-building and strategic reactivity amid volatility, building on theoretical knowledge of the advanced ERP functionalities that influence higher-order agility. To continue the study, it is crucial that these mechanisms should be empirically validated across various industries and organizations in different sizes so that researchers could fine-tune their implementation frameworks and overcome implementation challenges tailored to their particular setting.
