Metadata Quality Assessment Results of the China Earth Science Data Center

The metadata quality assessment dataset was constructed by applying the proposed assessment method to metadata retrieved from nine science data centers. Each metadata record was treated as the basic unit of analysis, and its quality characteristics were quantified across the four FAIR dimensions: Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability. The resulting dataset comprises nine Excel workbooks. Each workbook is organized into separate sheets by year. Each sheet contains 16 columns, with each column representing a specific metadata quality indicator. To achieve semantic alignment of cross-platform metadata, this study adopted the W3C Data Catalog Vocabulary - Version 3 (W3C DCAT) framework as a core reference model. Subsequently, metadata elements relevant to quality assessment were mapped to the W3C DCAT vocabulary.
