McMurdo Sound Foraminifera: Molecular Sequence Data

A remarkably high diversity of larger agglutinated Foraminifera ("forams") are found in McMurdo Sound, Antarctica, particularly in the New Harbor region. Molecular data from this "hotspot" of foram biodiversity is compiled in a GenBank nucleotide collection entitled “McMurdo Sound, Antarctica: Foraminifera” This sequence collection resulted from projects funded by NSF grants OPP-0216043 and ANT-0440769 awarded to S.S. Bowser, in collaboration with Jan Pawlowski (University of Geneva, CH)
