Images and Text from a Watching Brief at Rose Cottage, Main Street, East Haddon, West Northamptonshire, October 2021

This collection consists of images from a watching brief by MOLA Northampton at Rose Cottage, Main Street, East Haddon, West Northamptonshire, in October 2021. Three archaeological features were identified. They were all subject to a sample section excavated by hand and all deposits encountered during the excavation were fully recorded, following standard MOLA procedures Cut into the natural were two ditches and a gully. One ditch and the gully were aligned approximately north-south and the other ditch was aligned approximately east-west. The ditches both contained sherds of 14th and 15th century pottery, but the gully contained no finds therefore is undated.
