Dangerous Harbor Project - Lancaster County - Reel 261 - Militia Pensions, 1653-1850 - TIFFs 1-18

This dataset includes 18 TIFF files showing militia pensions from Lancaster County in Virginia. They were created to give those part of the militia regular payments once they retired from active service. These documents were collected in association with the Dangerous Harbor Project which used courthouse documents to identify escaped unfree laborers in the 17th century Chesapeake and the punishments associated with their escape. <br>To learn more about this project, please go to the Dangerous Harbor Website.
