Self-censorship in the cultural life, 2009

The survey will provide the basis for a number of articles on the freedom of speech in Denmark in 2009/2010. The questionnaires were sent out in December 2009. The respondents were writers, visual artists, gallery owners and curators. It is Ugebrevet A4 who in cooperation with the opinion research institute Kaas and Mulvad Aps. have conducted the survey among members of Danish Authors'' Society, Danish Galeries Association, Association of Danish Museums and Danske Billedkunstneres Fagforening. The inspiration for the survey was the Muhammad cartoons, which were printed in the Danish newspaper Jyllandsposten on the 30th September 2005. The respondents were asked to compare the current situation with the time before the Muhammad cartoons. Publications are available online at: http://www.ugebreveta4.dk
