资源简介:
The collection presents a dataset of ocean current, temperature, and salinity, collected from an Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) mooring at 90 m depth off Maria Island, Tasmania during 2008-2024. \nThe gridded daily, monthly, and climatological dataset offers users easy access to the Maria mooring data. In addition, it provides an invaluable baseline perspective on water column properties and temporal variability in the waters surrounding Maria Island. The data products can be used to characterise subsurface features of extreme events such as marine heatwaves, marine cold-spells, and to detect long-term change signals around Maria Island, influenced by the Zeehan Current and the East Australian Current Extension.\n\nLineage: ADCP\nRaw data (FV00) were processed using IMOS Matlab Toolbox, and then Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) of the data were performed using the Toolbox and assessed by physical oceanographers. After that, quality-controlled data (FV01) from different deployments were concatenated and (linearly) interpolated to a grid of 1m vertical resolution and averaged hourly. \n8 tidal constituents including M2, S2, N2, K2, O1, K1, P1, and Q1 were removed from the hourly data, and then the hourly residual velocities were averaged daily, resulting in gridded daily current variables. \nMonthly data were then derived from daily data if there were more than 10 days of data during that month. \nThe daily climatology was derived using an 11-day moving average window. \nTS\nWe provided temperature and salinity time series at two nominal depths of 20 m and 85 m. The processes applied for TS are similar to those of ADCP, except for not removing tidal signals. \n
