TTB Alcohol Permittees

This dataset contains 80,000+ business names in the US alcohol industry along with their geographic location.

The TTB is the federal regulator of alcohol in the United States. The TTB issues permits to alcohol producers, importers, wholesalers, and certain distributors. The full set of permits is published on their [List of Permittees](https://www.ttb.gov/public-information/foia/list-of-permittees) webpage, split across several CSVs. These files are updated roughly monthly.

COLA Cloud collates this data source, and monitors for updates on an ongoing basis. However this is not the full picture. Individual winery and brewery permits are excluded from this dataset.

To complete the dataset, COLA Cloud draws from the TTB's Public COLA Registry's millions of Label Approvals (COLAs) records which each have an associated permit number.

This blended `ttb_permittees` dataset offers the most complete and accurate accounting of active federal permittees.
