Datasets related to the article: Thriving areas in temperate coastal systems: novel insights for marine conservation

This repository contains the databases, in .RDS format, used in the article titled: Thriving resilience areas in temperate coastal systems: novel insights for marine conservation Specifically, this repository contains the following four databases: 1- Fish_density_dataset: This dataset presents the fish densities obtained directly from the sampling of each of the 793 RLS belt transects. This information is also available at www.reeflifesurvey.com. 2- Fish_traits_dataset - Information on each species related to the four functional traits studied (dietary patterns, gregariousness, position in the water column, and substrate preference). This information is also available at https://www.fishbase.se/search.php. 3- Dataset_for_modelling - This database comprises the functional metrics (functional richness and redundancy) and the 36 explanatory variables used to fit the XGBoost models. 4- Dataset_for_predictions - This database contains information on the 36 explanatory variables used to predict the values of the functional metrics.
