Dataset: Teachers’ Perceptions of Educational Legislation in Europe
Description
This dataset contains the results of a survey conducted among teachers in different European countries.
The data reflect teachers’ perceptions of the impact of educational legislation on five key dimensions:
Clarity, Homogeneity, Stability, Satisfaction, and Professional recognition.
The dataset is provided in an Excel file with four separate sheets:
- Europe: aggregated data from all countries.
- Italy: data from Italian respondents.
- Czech Republic: data from Czech respondents.
- Spain: data from Spanish respondents.
Each sheet includes teacher responses by educational level (Infant, Primary, Secondary, Vocational/Adult, University, Others).
Variables and coding
- Clarity (A): Teachers’ perception of how clear the legislation is.
- Homogeneity (B): Degree of uniformity across educational levels and territories.
- Stability (C): Perceived consistency of legislation over time.
- Satisfaction (D): Overall satisfaction with the legislative framework.
- Professional recognition (E): Perceived recognition and prestige of the teaching profession.
Scale (applied to all variables A–E):
- 0 = Nothing
- 1 = Little
- 2 = Sufficient
- 3 = Good
- 4 = A lot
