Neurons that express pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC), were dissociated from the arcuate nucleus of mice. The cells were isolated by FACS, then 96 single neurons were captured on the Fluidigm C1 platform. The RNA from these were sequenced on the Illumina Hiseq platform.
