Environmental Bases of the Plains — Hydrology

For each information component of Hydrology, a grouping of layers with different graphic renderings has been created according to the display scale. The following information layers are given: 1) measuring stations 2) fountains 3) embankments 4) hive 5) water network 6) secondary rods 7) water area. This cartography had as a priority the revision of the main and secondary hydrographic network of the territory of the Lombardy plain. The verification was born from the need to check the linear continuity of the watercourses and the consistency of the relative attributes with the data, updated to 1994, of the CTR. It has also been corrected or added, where missing, the trace of the underground sections of the waterways that cross the main urban centers, using the documentation of historical sources. In addition, the traces of historical digressions of the main riverbeds detected in 3 different periods have been reported: in the late 1800s, around 1930 and 1955.
