Search strategies are an update of searches included in the following publication: Ontario Health (Quality). Supplemental Screening as an Adjunct to Mammography for Breast Cancer Screening in People With Dense Breasts: A Health Technology Assessment. Ont Health Technol Assess Ser. 2023 Dec 19;23(9):1-293. PMID: 39364436; PMCID: PMC11445669. The Ontario Health review set out to answer the following research questions: 1. What are the sensitivity and specificity of supplemental breast screening with ultrasound, digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or contrast-enhanced mammography, as an adjunct to mammography for breast cancer screening in people with dense breasts? 2. What are the comparative sensitivity and specificity of supplemental breast screening with ultrasound, DBT, MRI, or contrast-enhanced mammography, as an adjunct to mammography compared to mammography alone for breast cancer screening in people with dense breasts? 3. What are the effectiveness and harms of supplemental breast screening with ultrasound, DBT, MRI, or contrast-enhanced mammography as an adjunct to mammography compared to mammography alone for breast cancer screening in people with dense breasts?
