To investigate differences in patterns of gene expression between embryos and adults, we used next-generation sequencing to create a de novo transcriptome of the Antarctic dragonfish Gymnodraco acuticeps from two separate pools of embryos across early development (blastula to segmentation) exposed to ambient and various environmental conditions (warming, increased pCO2) and one pool of adult tissues from ambient conditions (brain, gill, liver, spleen).
