Assessment Datasets of major agricultural disasters and disaster losses in China, 1949-2015

As a big agricultural country, China has experienced a series of natural disasters such as the "three-year natural disaster", the “1998 floods ” and the“2008 snow storm” since the founding of the People's Republic of China. We present a detailed dataset summarizing the affected area, disaster area and the area of total crop failure at a provincial level in China; temporal coverage extends 1949-2015. Based on agricultural planting structure data and natural disaster data, We also present data of grian diasters loss by grain loss assessment model. Last, the datasets play an important role in agricultural disaster prediction, disaster prevention and reduction in the future.
