We collect data from Bloomberg. The initial sample is composed of publicly traded, US-incorporated firms listed on NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX from 2010 to 2016. Firms operating in the financial sector and in utilities and firms that have negative revenue, missing receivables, and missing SIC codes are excluded from the sample. The final sample includes 3,418 firms and the aggregate sample is composed of 19,159 firm-year observations. All continuous variables are winsorized at the 1 percent and 99 percent levels to minimize the influence of outliers.
