The key metabolic processes that are crucial to oocyte quality and embryonic development remain largely unknown. Investigating the metabolic events that occur in cumulus cells, oocytes, and follicular fluid may provide a comprehensive insight into this issue. The transcriptomic analysis showed that adenosine improved oocyte quality by correcting the meiotic defects induced by altered CycB1 and Cdc27 expression, as well as the oxidative stress induced by altered JNK expression.This study demonstrates the significance of adenosine in oocyte quality and embryonic development. It provides a theoretical and translational basis for early prediction and improvement of oocyte and embryo quality.
