Raillietiella orientalis isolate:Ror_cc_003 Genome sequencing and assembly

This project is generating the first genome assembly for the parasitic pentastome Raillietiella orientalis. This particular parasite is invasive in the southern United States and infects numerous species of native snakes. The genome sequence for this species will be a critical resource for understanding its evolutionary history, geographic origin, and mechanisms of infection, in addition to assisting in the identification of future treatments and mitigation interventions to protect the native herpetofauna.
