The firefly Luciola parvula (Coleoptera, Lampyridae) is a terrestrial species widely distributed in Japan. Adult male exhibit ultradian rhythms in light emission with periods of approximately~0.5s. Thus, this species is a good model to study ultradian rhythm. The present sequencing study was aimed to analyze the genome of Luciola parvula comprehensively.
