Vertical Transport of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon in Louisiana Salt Marsh Sediment

This dataset contains TPH movement in an artificially contaminated soil core. The intact core of saline marsh soil in coastal Louisiana was taken and artificially contaminated with 2% oil. The data was generated in a laboratory experiment in which the intact core was subjected to column leaching with seawater followed by dilute biosurfactant (rhamnolipid) solution (at 40 ppm). The result shows that the vertical movement of oil was minimum even with dilute biosurfactant effluent. As much as about 65% TPH was accumulated in top 0-2 cm and about 97% of total TPH remained in 10 cm column.
