DAS monitoring of geohazards and environmental hazards project

This is a funded NSF-CIVIC project "Leveraging existing fiber-optic cables to identify and manage urban environmental hazards" (Award #2322198). We plan to install an DAS interrogator equipped with pre-existing telecom fiber-optic cable provided by a local telecom company in Spring 2024 in the city of Pittsburgh PA. Meanwhile, we want to calibrate the vibration data (earthquake to human activities) using the seismometer. This data collection will be 6 month. I think the intermediate-period seismometer would be sufficient. The start date will be late Jan 2024 and no exact date determined yet.
