Former Enterprise Zone

The Enterprise Zone Act was repealed by the passage of A.B. 93 on July 11, 2013, which resulted in the termination of the Enterprise Zone program in December 2013. The Enterprise Zone Program was responsible for designating California’s 42 Enterprise Zones authorized by the state legislature. The program targeted economically distressed areas throughout California, providing special incentives designed to encourage business investment and promote the creation of new jobs. The purpose of the program was to stimulate development by providing tax incentives to businesses and allow private sector market forces to revive the local economy.
