Complete genome sequence of Streptococcus agalactiae and Streptococcus pneumoniae.

"Streptococcus agalactiae is not only for the important pathogen for the cause of neonatal and obstetric sepsis but also for the invasive infection in immunocompromised and elderly individuals in human. On the other hand, Streptococcus pneumoniae is a Gram-positive bacterium that causes respiratory infection, which is responsible for the majority of community-acquired pneumonia in elderly people and acute otitis media in children. This bacterium occasionally causes invasive infections, such as meningitis and sepsis. Here we report the complete genome sequence of these bacteria (one S. agalactiae stain and three S. pneumoniae strains) isolated from human adult patients in Japan."
