m6A is a prevalent RNA modification that plays important roles in germ cell development and early embryogenesis. METTL14 is a core component of the m6A methyltransferase complex; however, its function in mammalian oocytes remains incompletely understood.In this study, SMART-seq2 was used to generate transcriptome profiles of GV and metaphase stage oocytes isolated from wild-type and oocyte-specific Mettl14 conditional knockout mice. These data were generated to investigate the impact of METTL14 loss on maternal RNA abundance and RNA processing during oocyte growth and maturation.This dataset provides a resource for studying m6A-dependent post-transcriptional regulation, alternative splicing, and mitochondrial and meiotic pathways in mammalian oocytes.
